Afghanistan’s women’s national volleyball team faced Iran in their third match at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and lost 3–0.
This was Afghanistan’s third consecutive defeat in the tournament. The team had previously lost to Turkey and Tajikistan, both by the same score of 3–0.
In this match, Iran dominated all three sets, winning 25–9, 25–10, and 25–8. Afghanistan’s incomplete lineup — entering the competition with only eight players — has been cited as one of the main reasons for these losses. Four team members were unable to participate due to issues with passport renewal and visa issuance.
Afghanistan’s women’s national volleyball team will face Azerbaijan tomorrow in their final group-stage match.
